This is my new blog for my small business "Fisqual PC and Network Services"
I'm going to try to update once a month at least, but it will be more or less frequent when I get frustrated with a computer...
Frustration #1
I have legit copies of every type of Windows XP imaginable. I only install XP on computers that have the product key sticker intact. So I'm trying to be the good guy and be legit, but it takes so long to deal with the product keys, activation and the like.
The newest error I've been getting is "Incorrect Product Key". Well, when I was installing windows it accepted the key. This key has obviously been activated before or the computer wouldn't have ever worked. So I have had to call Microsoft activation for EVERY SINGLE computer I reinstall windows on. I have to read the 9 segments of 6 numbers (54 numbers!), then when I 'fail authentication' I have to re-read the code to someone in India and explain to them that I've installed this particular copy of windows on one and only one computer, and did I mention it was installed on only one computer? ...Then they give me the authentication key and I have to type in the 9 segments of 6 numbers into the activation window. The whole process takes upwards of 20 minutes (and it's only that short if the call doesn't drop somewhere in there).
